Monday the 25th Aug.The dip commences west of the divide in QLD tomorrow with no precip' but wondering if we will start to see some cloud development on that trough line initiating. I can't see anything that resembles a split? atm

Thanks for the temp' anomalies for polar stratosphere. That certainly looks intriguing.

Jetstream report.24th August 2019 The southern hemisphere jetstream pattern has changed from zonal sub tropical and weak sub polar in the winter of 2019 to a moderate meridonal wavy pattern for both jets. The sub polar jet still looks a bit weak https://weathercycles.files.wordpress.com/2019/08/24th...

The AAO seems to be responding to the stratosphere temperature anomalies by remaining negative since July 4th 2019 and is forecasting another significant drop in the AAO this coming week into the first week of September. That is now 51 days in the negative range :D Might have to keep watching the st...

There is something strange going on at 10 Hpa. At 70Hpa, the 3 elongated vortices have air moving clockwise into them. At 10Hpa the winds are still clockwise but spiralling outwards like the top of a cyclone. https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/10hPa/orthographic=-220.20,-91.86,1379...

The calender spring is here in a week. There are signs the surface synoptic pattern is changing . August 29th 2019 A big tropical dip in isobars off the coast of east Australia draws tropical moisture down to a low off the NSW .Some of this wetstuff is directed onto the coast via a SE onshore flow.,...

In the short term, this will have a global impact on weather patterns over many months if it comes off. could you...

I am happy to post this good news August 28th 2019 Is this the start of the SE QLD storm season. Here we have a small tropical dip in isobars aligning with a protrusion of the westerly belt (troughing). We have a 500 and 200hPa trough supporting the surface albeit this upper troughing sits a tad wes...

The jet around the Polar "Vortex" is now anything BUT circular at 70Hpa! https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/70hPa/orthographic=-210.74,-95.15,488 Yes. 70hPa has lost symetry for sure. Noting also, one side of the 10hPa polar vortex has reduced wind speed. https://earth.nu...
