Re: Humid with showers and storms, followed by strong front: March 22-26

missed here unfortunately (or fortunately!?) some light rain but would have been good to get more. Some nice puffy cloud though! are more likely to form overnight or is it relying on the sun to create convection? Wow, hard to belive it missed you but got here. Small almost stationary cell exploded ...

Re: Humid with showers and storms, followed by strong front: March 22-26

Big storm just exploded over the middle burbs of Melbourne. Went through it on the train - raindrops the size of "soggy" golf balls. Nice convergence zone supporting this, so hopefully it continues to grow.

Re: Humid with showers and storms, followed by strong front: March 22-26

Thick fog up here, but again still no proper rain :( Good storms out east and been the odd light shower in central Vic. Unstable today, but mainly focused on the east. Similar tomorrow. Warm to hot and humid, still feeling more like mid summer than mid autumn.

Humid with showers and storms, followed by strong front: March 22-26

Finally a bit of weather showing up with a deepening trough Friday into Saturday, then another trough on Sunday with a strong front for Monday. Best will be about the eastern ranges, but the whole state should get a bit. Models have been a bit jumpy, but looks like 5-20mm most southern and mountain ...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

Smokey, humid warm one in the Dandenongs. Getting over this non-stop warmth... Should finally seem instability spread more widely tomorrow with the odd shower and storm (widespread out east). Similar for Sunday. Monday and Tuesday looking better across the models - most southern areas 10-20mm, and l...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

Another thick fog overnight with mizzle. 0.2mm in the gauge in the open, but again very damp among the trees. We've picked up 1.4mm in fog and mizzle the last three nights. Not earth-shattering, but something to break-up the monotony of endless dry :( Showers a chance now for the next few days. Sund...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

Very thick fog all night, which turned to drizzle about an hour ago. 0.4mm in the gauge. But... in the forests this has dropped a lot more. I put out a bucket and captured near 20mm under a typical patch of trees on our block. Gardens going to be a bit patchy after this as under bushes and trees it ...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

I so can’t wait to hear the rain on the colorbond roof in my new house!! I’ve been waiting patiently for the last 3 weeks 😂 Still in BM? Thick fog in FC, bordering on drizzle. Trees are dripping like crazy :D Put out a bucket and collected about 1mm so far. Hope it goes all night, and turns to prop...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

Another warm humid one in the Dandenongs. Squeeze out 0.2mm from overnight mizzle so not completely fine. Garden is slowly transforming into something more typical of the Adelaide Hills or Flinders Ranges at this time of year :( Lots of very stressed trees and bushes now. Progs all hold something fo...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

23C yesterday and sunny, but humid. Thick fog this morning and almost drizzle. Chance of the odd shower today. Good to see those falls out east across the fire grounds. Best falls in ages, though patchy so not everywhere scored. Peak falls near 100mm. Progs firming on a good thundery outbreak late F...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

Another almost hot one here with 25C. Notably humid, with haze and a few Cu popping up. A low has developed south of Sydney and will push southwest. Should be some decent falls the next three days for areas east of about Marysville and also the Otways and South Gippsland. Might get the odd shower or...

Re: Another long warm spell, with possible showers. March 15-25

25C in FC yesterday. Looks like the same for the next four days here. Might get a bit of fog. But... the Progs are slowly ramping up the prospect for rain. Increasing showers out east and near the Otways with potential for local heavy falls. Should spread into west Gippsland, so not out of the quest...

Another long warm spell, with showers. March 15-23

Looks like we are stuck in another long warm to hot spell with a big high to our east and a trough sat near Victoria. Unfortunately the surface trough over Vic has an upper ridge above and upper trough to its east so we will have large scale subsidence which will cap showers despite ok low level hum...

Re: March 9-15: Troughs and a couple of fronts but will it rain?

Maybe time for a new thread. Looks like we will have a trough for the next ten days, but most of Vic will (probably) miss out. Could sneak some heavy falls into east Gippsland, and suspect some showery stuff will make it into South Gippsland, the Otways and perhaps the northeast on one or more days....

Re: March 9-15: Troughs and a couple of fronts but will it rain?

Nothing out of the ordinary, unless that heat from the north somehow makes it down here. It looks pretty abnormal to me. Melbourne is currently running more than 2C above average for March, more typical of an above average January than March. OZ is currently running about 3C above average. As for r...

Re: March 9-15: Troughs and a couple of fronts but will it rain?

Min of 8C this morning. All up just shy of 5mm for the thread. Perhaps a slight chance for a shower on Thursday, but otherwise that looks like about it  Hard to believe we’ve had so many fronts and troughs and yet so little rain. Yesterday’s front was quite strong for the time of year but so m...

Re: March 9-15: Troughs and a couple of fronts but will it rain?

Way too much heat up North & looks to be building up again. It looks as though it's heading this way, thoughts anyone? Yep, lots of heat (and records). The latest are in the NT where both Curtin Springs and Yulara Airport , with 45.0 and 44.8 deg C have broken the NT March record this week. Those n...

Re: March 9-15: Troughs and a couple of fronts but will it rain?

Looks like about 5mm at home today. My gauge looks to have a leaf or something similar in it, so will need to check the manual gauge when I get home. MTD about 20m (March average is just shy of 100mm, on track for another shocker ). Looks like locally 5-10mm, so gives things a little drink ahe...

Re: March 9-15: Troughs and a couple of fronts but will it rain?

I think another temperature record fell today with Roebourne with 48.1 recording Australia's hottest recorded March temperature Yep, a new National autumn record high :( Can we please start to break some cold ones :? 0.6mm here.EC picked it well.. ok falls out west but system fell apart as it cross...
