Ok guys - in one week I will no longer be a Victorian - we are off to WA for ever (Bunbury). I'm thinking the weather will be somewhat different from NW Vic!! We have a rented house 100m from Binninup beach and sea views (pity we can't afford to buy it!) so I'm expecting some fabulous sunsets and gr...
Dogs need a walk and ready to tear the place apart! Mine too - unexercised Jack Russells going stir crazy. Been steady here for a couple of days now. Yesterday the front end loader that was unloading to do some work in my paddock skidded sideways off the wet truck tray and landed on its side in the...
I'm beginning to suspect a conspiracy up here at the BOM weather station in the NW
In the last three rain events we have seen one case of no recorded rain, one case of radar down, and guess what, its down again today!!!
Firing up a bit to the east of me at the moment with some spectacular anvils, needs to creep about 20km closer though. A few rumbles but sometimes hard to distinguish from the metalic bang of the wine bins being unloaded. Hopefully a bit of rain this time!
Agree with that comment Johno. As a resident of the NW I can add that while the extreme heat we have been enduring is ennervating, it's not a patch on the devastation of a bushfire destroying your home. Hope you southerners get a good drop soon to lessen the ongoing risk, we have sufficient now, a b...
Mildura BOM rain gauge is down still so no official total. WZ has it at 16mm. I have had 38 and still rising but totals are always all over the place here. Merbein and Red Cliffs often have good rain when the airport has recorded none.
Yeeeeeesss! Finally a few hours of steady rain. Couple thundery drum rolls - loving it!! We have only had 0.6 mm this year so far and lots of vines, avocados and citrus fried up here. My trees looking worse than during the drought so this wet stuff is pretty exciting.
Never have i seen 100% chance of rain for us but that is what weatherzone have....for now anyway.....100% 10-20mm for Friday 80% 10-20mm for Thursday.....will be good for the garden and tanks and make a welcome relief from day after day of heat. We have that too - 100% friday for 40-80mm and 90% fo...
Sorry, it seems to have remained absolutely stationary about 50km west of us Geoff - radar has it dropping some rain so hopefully no fires being sparked by lightening.
Yesterdays "chilly" 33C was lovely - got the lawns mowed (I mean the dead brown stuff), thousands of dead leaves raked, outside of house ready for open inspection on Saturday. Lots of trees with burnt bits, everything looking rather unappealing really. Now back to the heat!
Sacrificing small animals to Thor is not working (neither did the Ouyen Naked Rain Dance in 2003!) Everything up here is either crispy or dead, including me. Any and all suggestions for appeasing the gods welcome.
It gets weirder up here in the NW. Few spots of rain last night at work 3km away, but 2mm in the rain guage at home and a damp lawn when I got home - yay! (Sudden very localised downpour at about 7pm according to neighbours) Just out walking dogs in the relative "cool" of 34C, with cloud c...
A bit of respite today with a top of only 39!! Back to 44 tomorrow for our sins and a few more hellish days to follow. We are moving to Bunbury WA (OH already there) and I'm looking forward to a cooler coastal climate!!
I've resorted to the dog's pool to cool off - 7 days straight over 40 (6 of them over 42) is doing my head in. I'm trying to sell the house and the scorched earth look isn't helpful!!
