Nice to see it so green there HB. Hiked around Badger's Creek a couple of weeks ago and was similarly green.
We got 17mm here so pretty happy.
Oddly, BOM just issued a STW for this area and further NE but the band is now clearing to the east. Any clues as to why?

Calm and misty down here in Walkerville. Nice morning. Here’s a photo looking west towards Venus Bay from the back deck :D https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EsXXjhBVkAALJCI?format=jpg&name=large Beautiful photo HB. Hot here like everywhere. Cloud is tempering things a bit though. This part of the NE real...

Re: Finally a storm outbreak first week of the New Year??
I feel quite inadequate reporting another 10mm to 9am :). Pretty good result though, 41mm for the (extended) event and radar suggests it's not over yet. (PS: I'm another softie - the wood fire hasn't stopped here for a few days, but to be fair its consistently 10-13C, with no sun and no chance to w...

Re: Low / Trough 15 - 16 Nov
Apparently we got 0.4mm of mud last night :o Only sign of it is the brown cars and the 0.4mm on my AWS. Another week of not much coming up. Maybe something significant next weekend :?: Yeah it's gone from soft, wet ground to dry here in two weeks thanks to all the south easterlies and warmer temps....

Re: Trough with low to our north: 27-31 October.
I am thinking of heading out on a chase up to Benalla around lunchtime as a possible target area. On the BoM grid point wind charts, shear does not look great and steering is weak from the SE, so anything will be slow moving. Conditions look similar to yesterday, so not expecting anything SW of abo...

STW just issued for here. Absolutely beautiful structure going on in all directions at the moment. Snapped this monster NE of Mansfield a short time ago.

Re: Trough with low to our north: 27-31 October.
Today looks promising for a break in our storm drough. Widespread storms central through east. Some will sneak into the west. Weak steering, so will be slow moving and pulse. LI drop to around -4 at a minimum so very unstable. On these days the sea breeze can keep storms away from the coast, though...

Re: another 1 or 2 lows tracking SE over Vic 22 Oct - ?
A soaking 40mm in the gauge here with most falling between 4-8am. Very heavy at times . Takes our mtd to 115mm. As Onehauti said, it's not over until the last drop falls. And while the temptation is to turn negative Nancy before before events are even properly underway, again this event has proved a...

Storms developing sw and east of here as forecast. Some decent totals in quicktime with Wang getting 20mm in 25mins.
Nice hearting with sun out so this should enhance cells.

Re: Another low tracking south over Vic/Tas 16-19 Oct
We got the higher side of the forecast here at 25mm event total so far. Steady and wet night. Dew point around 15C so feeling damp. Creeks and gullies have again come back to life after last week's heavy flows. Will check out rivers later. Eildon will hit 65% today which is an increase of just shy o...

Had a few rumbles and some moderate rain now. Nice! looking forward to more throughout the evening. Saturday looking good for heavier rain and a resumption of riverine flooding up this way.

No dud here approaching 40mm now and rain continuing. Biggest 24hrs for some time. Lot's of gushers flowing into Eildon so should reach 60% tomorrow.

Yeah Twister great falls over a large part of the state and still coming.Closing in on 32mm for the event so far in Mansfield. Loving the wrap. Now turned cold with the westerlies. Oh and a couple of good cells passed here in the wee hours with loud thunder that seemed to echo on and on.

Is forecasting a mere 10% of the original progs classified as a fizzer to anyone else? 3 to 8mm, compared to 30 to 80 (roughly) just days ago 😡😡😡 Not unless you have the ability to actually see into the future. This thing is just cranking up now. Perhaps reserve conclusions until the conclusion :P

Great event for many. Did a little snow chase today and found quite a bit up around Tolmie circa 900 m. Tons of low lying snow in all directions around the high country. The mountain shot is Mt Timbertop. Buller was in cloud and snow most of the day but will look spectacular tomorrow if the cloud cl...
