Re: Deep slow moving low with rain, snow, gales and storm surge: August 17-24

Great pics. My childhood home was at the base of Mt Timbertop - I've climbed it about 30 times at last count :). There's also lovely little snowplain just east of the summit towards Doherty's Road. Also Rhyolite Falls on the north face. Never get tired of that mountain; a real island in the sky. Gr...

Took a solo hike up Mt Timbertop today. It's so beautiful up there presently. The candlebarks and snow gums were lit by the reflection of the snow, still sitting well from about 1000 metres. Photos show Mt Buller with summit in cloud and The Bluff.

And congrats HB - The Age featured your snow snaps!

Re: Deep slow moving low with rain, snow, gales and storm surge: August 17-24

Sounds like the people of Woods Point are lucky to live there these winters. It will be snow blocked there by tomorrow at this rate. Great shots all. Just popped up the road from me a little and found myself in a winter scene. Snowing heavily at 700m and settling thick at 800m https://www.youtube.c...

Not much going on here. 14mm last two days after expecting >20.

"The Blob" looking nice on the sat pic. Hoping we get our second snowfall in 3 weeks Sat AM, and the 30-50 mm we're expecting 😬

HB, that's a beautiful shot of the snow in SA. If only we had snowier winters! Sure was. And the ABC report on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VboE0MuvPfA is worth a watch. Also worth noting that snow (rather than rain) is falling in the Vic alps presently https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsCCRN3yL7...

Wonderful fall HB. You finally got your proper snow fall! Looks like the kids enjoyed it too! Great to have that interaction with nature as a distraction from our current woes.

WOW at pic HB! Beautiful! Sure is a beautiful shot. Drying 40-50km SE winds here in Mansfield presently from the ECL. Things are drying out here for the first time since March. Lake Eildon's filling rate has slowed and if we don't see rain in the next two weeks will start to reverse - something alm...

Front blasted through here about 11:30. 7mm in last hour. Temp 9. Wont take a lot more to get the gushers flowing again.
Some still flowing from last week's rain despite nothing since. Shows just how wet the ground is.
