Re: Vic: Low pressure - showers/rain/storms - 8-13 April 201

Happy to see and feel the sunlight again. The dogs are even happier as they will get a long walk this morning. I wonder if we will get some showers this afternoon from the south east.

Quite a good system in the end - and still going. 45 mm here, almost 2 inches for the older folk. The garden will go nuts next week in its last hurrah before winter.

Re: Vic: Low pressure - showers/rain/storms - 8-13 April 201

Several sessions of moderate rain here - looks like noise on the radar as well as underestimating the rate

Not sure about the heavy rain but the drizzle is back for the third day. Dogs need a walk and ready to tear the place apart!

I agree. The radar is really underestimating the showers in the CBD.

Re: Spring/Winter fronts - July 29 to August 10 2013

Winter 2013 CBD rainfall total is currently running at #11 out of 158 years of records with around 208mm so far. I think by the end of month, this will be in the top 3 wettest winters :o

Re: Polar Blast Fri 19 - Fri 26 July

Has seen raining moderately for the last half an hour - the orange/yellow radar part. Great to hear all the snow reports too - I wish for snow at sea level in Melbourne like 1986 (I think). CBD July average rainfall about to be passed as well.

Melbourne is currently the second warmest capital city! Darwin is first I course. Radar looks interesting too.

Re: Polar Blast Fri 19 - Fri 26 July

That is a quite a large and high high south of WA. There is no doubt Saturday will be cold but to what extent will it snow and how low will it go. The isobars for Saturday morning go straight up from the edge of the map - good times :D

Re: Melbourne dams

Melbourne Water dams up only 0.4 percentage points over the last few days. I was expecting quite a lot more given the nice totals in the related Gippsland catchments.

Me thinks many monthly June rainfall totals will be broken, possibly smashed by the end of the month
