Re: Autumn Gale/Rain - March 20/21 2013

Id say an F3 easy. Very sad for those who have been affected by it. At least the pictures removed the "mini" from the equation. Has the BOM officially recognised tornados here yet? It was only a few years ago that they were adamant that they didnt exist, everything was a "micro burst...

Re: First N/W Cloudband, Statewide Rain and Cool Start to Ea

Whoa baby, I check the synoptic chart before I left home and it was marked as a decaying cold front so I thought cool, thankfully I got home in time before it hit I was on the freeway, that would have been terrible on the roads, that wind ripped through here!! Quick off topic as I've been MIA for ag...

Re: Victoria: Cooler, showery, windy- March 16th-17th

I took it off your Davis Weather Link Stevco as I'm pretty sure where less than 500m from each other possible even 200m, we're SO close, I must have missed it hit 190mm/h that was by far the heaviest rain I've seen in years BUT it was very short lived but yes it will definitely cause flash flooding...

Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 24

Hi tizza  I was watching tv and at about 12.30 to 1.00 am I caught two flashes about 40 seconds apart out of the corner of my eye at the front of the house which faces east. I checked the radar to see if it was lightning but didn't see anything after that. I thought it was really weird. HI RI...

Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 24

Did anyone by chance see extremely bright bluish flashes of light to Melbourne's NE about 15 mins ago @10:05ish?????? There was about 4 of them and they were not lightning, as it was WAY too bright for lightning not to hear thunder, radar and lightning tracker are both quiet

Re: Low Pressure Trough - October 5-8 2012

we'd had nothing but light drizzle until 30mins ago, it has been chucking it down now for 10 minutes and I got 3.5mm (yeah I know nothing spectacular). It's been a while since I've seen it rain like that so it's really October now. Lucky that backed off, that kind of rain will cause chaos. I haven't...

Re: VIC: Severe Wind Event - Spring Fronts. Sep 2-8 2012

Massive roll cloud on this, it just went over. The wind isn't as bad as I expected but it made the house shift or even lift a little as it passed over. I'm pretty much at the weakest part of the entire line though.

Yeah John that roll cloud is really LOW

Re: Victoria: Cold Front - August 28-September 1 2012

Looks like the area around Mt Macedon is about to blasted with heavy snow showers. Can someone please take photos and then post them on here. It looks like it is cold enough and wet enough for a few cm up there. Flow gone to South-Westerly now. First showers almost here. I'm in Daylesford Stevco an...

Re: Victoria: Cold Front - August 28-September 1 2012

I just checked a contour map and I'm dead on 600m ASL, an extra 100m would be nice, the rain is still pelting down here, we would have easily had 5mm in the last 30 minutes if not more

Re: Victoria: Cold Front - August 28-September 1 2012

I'm in Daylesford for the week and it is PELTING down, no hail or sleet yet as it's still quite mild for up here but I think that might change quite soon looking at the temps across western vic. Fingers crossed for some snow, it's a stretch but it would be nice :)
