Bit of a warm one today...I have been finding excuses to stay inside I admit...might even have to get aircon one day or insulation at the very least... I see Cairns hit 39.1c today......which may well be the highest Feb temp ever recorded... according to weatherzone the previous highest was 38.9c 51...

Where has the wet season gone indeed...! We just spent a beautiful 2 days out at the reef....5-6 knots of wind maximum , beautiful sunset and just some light showers at dawn which made a sleep-in just divine with the pitter patter of raindrops on the roof..! Nice visibility in the water and some awe...

Got all the mowing done yesterday in preparation for the deluge..saw it all starting to hit Cairns from the north last night on the radar..closed up everything and turned off the gravity feed water before going to bed.... Over 200mm in cairns last night and up to 500mm just to the south the night be...

Nice to see some good falls about...we have been missing most ..just 100 mm at Tully so far for the month.. Got the boat packed up for a couple of windless days at the reef ..installed a 12v oven yesterday for some tasty treats.. All ready to go on the back of the forecast that says 5-10mm of rain.....

So envious of you Daintree guys.. Tully sugar mill has recorded 57.8 mm this year so far.. Took the dogs down the swimming hole for a swim the other day and the wwoofer wouldn't even go in once the dogs stirred up the silt and leaves.....said it was too dirty... I cant remember when I last saw a mozzie, Dormant...not so green down here yet.. But all the forecasts are firming up for widespread monsoonal activity this week and beyond...looking good for the whole top end and east coast...just hope it does in fact materialise..the frogs have sure been going off...

Certainly has been comfortable weather leading up to Xmas....we have just been getting dribs and drabs of a few mm's here and there but relatively mild overcast weather with a good dose of humidity... Looks like some nice weather for Xmas and then a few showers and storms later in the week...looking...

Yeah that puts things in perspective Hickory and bunyip...…although down here we have not had any measurable rain yet.... We know that within the next few weeks we are assured of torrential rain but much of the rest of the country is frying with no relief at all in sight... My families farm in NW NS...

It did make my eyes water for a bit 28... Still sore and swollen and even In my top set of gums .. Sure glad it wasn't my missus though...given how allergic she is it would have been very nasty.. Some nice storms firing up out the back right now...it would be nice to get a bit more although I can feel the season has finally changed and we should see an end to the dry weather on the coast and tablelands
