Re: Tropics day to day weather talk

Hahaha, Bunyip sounds...scary. I'd take a week should I be so foolish to attempt it.

Re: Tropics day to day weather talk

Not as bad as yesterday, a real stinker. However, there is a warning re Severe Thunderstorm for the North Queensland Coast and guess what, the radar is out. I guess one will have to hope it won't be a blast out of the blue but creeping closer rumble.which is about as scientific as a hundred years ag...

Re: Tropics day to day weather talk

Heck I'd even take thunderstorms that make me rattle in my boots at this stage just to get some rain.
Sadly it looks like Cyclone Uesi as it gets closer in the south might affect us to the extend of dragging away all rain for quite some time.

Re: Tropics day to day weather talk

Yep, yep and yep. I only keep posting in all weathers and no weathers and all seasons to keep a forum flowing. Kinda like community service. As I recall Raindammit did such a good job in that delicate balance of moderating and contributing. Am sure sick of this weather, 11pm and the rooms are still ...

Re: Tropics day to day weather talk

If you know very well where you are located on Bom's rain radar map which has a graduated coloured strip underneath, and a large mass with a large area of red and yellow passes right over you and no rain falls, what exactly do those red and yellows mean.

Re: Tropics day to day weather talk

Since my gauge overflowed, past 200mm, I'll never know how much rain we got in the last six hours if Bunyip doesn't check in. One might say it was an 'interesting night' while the rest of Australia burns.

Re: Tropics day to day weather talk

So funny a post, Marakai, you're a rough diamond. And so glad the greening up for your menagerie, was surprised it wasn't more given I was watching the tracks of blobs and much was inland. It was all pretty mild for us no great blasts to shake open cracks in the slab roof though a few drips to patch...

And green very soon, 28, good to see your falls..

Bunyip, Same amount here, 19mm Certainly been a few blasts with little warning. I'm sure your agility saved you...Maybe why we left off the gutters, sounds like tedious work.
