Re: Cold week with occasional showers: June 18-22

Nothing much to report here, just a few light showers this morning and only had a few drops from the band of showers moving through Melbourne now.

Re: Sequence of fronts with possible low: June 9-15

10-12mm fell around the local area today, on top of last weeks deluge we are well over double the June average (38mm). Still plenty of water laying around the paddocks between here and Geelong, creeks and rivers flowing and farm dams full. Great to see Perth has had 107mm for the week, falls in the ...

Re: Sequence of fronts with possible low: June 9-15

Min of 12C in the city and 8C here. Currently 5C at Mount Hotham and Falls Creek which are poking into the warmer air aloft. Not quite your usual winter weather for 5am :? Sign of the incoming surge of warmer damp weather that will dominate the week. Progs still looking very encouraging for follow ...

Re: Sequence of fronts with possible low: June 9-15

Great to see that SW WA is finally getting some rain, I spoke with dad over the weekend, he said he has never seen the area (Perth hills) look so dry. Paddocks with just dust and stubble in June...

It’s great to see long time dry creeks flowing again, the Lerderderg river is flowing at the gorge again too.

Re: Strong front and possible low: June 2-6

It certainly was a wet day, some pws locally recording 90-100mm... my wheelbarrow is almost full with water, just incredible for June. The long term June average (1880-1962, station closed in 1962) is 38.2mm and the highest daily total for June in that time is 48.3mm, so quite unusual.

Re: Strong front and possible low: June 2-6

The PWS on the eastern side of Trentham has just cracked 100mm since midnight :) Main convergence is weakening as it comes down the northern side of the range but I have finally got to 21mm with light to moderate rain. Not surprising to see a minor flood warning on the Werribee river. I live on a r...

Re: Strong front and possible low: June 2-6

Street are a mess here, especially around the new housing developments... mud everywhere, few roads are closed around town due to flooding. Rowsley, just west of town is now on 81mm since midnight, Bacchus Marsh town centre is now almost on 60mm. Long term average for June is 36mm.

Re: Strong front and possible low: June 2-6

The Lerderderg was dry on the weekend at the gorge but I think it should start flowing now, the catchment was so dry before May that it’s needing a lot of rain to start flowing.

Torrential rain not letting up at all, looking at the radar it won’t let up for a while. Nearest weather station 2km from here now sitting on 52mm.

Re: Low pressure sequence. 24–31 May

Went for a walk down at the Lerderderg gorge yesterday, and the Lerderderg river is still bone dry, even the summer swimming water holes have no water in them.

Re: Low pressure sequence. 24–31 May

Had 8mm last night and 5mm Saturday evening, now sitting on about 75mm MTD which for here is great! The good rain and recent warm weather has my new native garden thriving, my Kangaroo paws are covered with flowers.

Re: Strong fronts and possible low: May 7-12

Water water everywhere, I can see water streaming off the hills and the market gardens I look over are starting to flood.
I don’t have a rain gauge yet but two private weather stations close to me have recorded 50-60mm since midnight. B.Marsh town centre is having issue with flooding apparently too.
