Re: Low then cold fronts 16-20 October

6mm here with a few rumbles of thunder. Currently 9c, dead calm, and a brief shower passing by at the moment. I drove through some heavy rain and lightning through the outer northern suburbs early this evening. Looks like it has been fairly hit and miss with a few areas getting quite a good downpour...

Re: Low then cold fronts 16-20 October

Misty and drizzly here overnight and early this morning, which landed 1.8mm into the gauge. Mostly sunny, mild one today with a max of 16.7c. Hopefully we'll get a few mm over the next couple of days. We're currently on 26mm for the month, so still quite a way to go if we are to reach the average.

Warm one today - almost 24c here. I slept through whatever rain we had last night, but there was 0.6mm in the gauge this morning. Cool change has come through - down to 13c currently.

A couple of heavy showers overnight here and 4.7mm, something I didn’t expect. Radar is clear now, but it will be interesting to see what happens today given the patchy nature of this setup.

My wife said she heard on the radio that it snowed in Gisborne.
Yeah, no snow that I saw. Definitely hailed and might have been a bit of sleet when the temp dipped.

Re: VIC - Strong front: October 7-9 2019

Showery day here today. 13mm so far (including the rain overnight), with a couple of squalls and hail showers this afternoon and a cool maximum of 10.8c. Sure felt lovely and wintry - the wood burner is roaring away! Currently 7c.

3mm today, and certainly surprising. I was expecting zilch! Max of 13c today and currently 7c. Wood heater is back on.

Re: VIC - Strong front and trough - Sept 19-22 2019

Yes it’s looking fairly dry for a while ahead. We haven’t been quite as lucky as some others for rain this month. We’re currently sitting on 43mm, so it will be a below average month here, although not too bad overall after the above average month in August. Down to 2c overnight, so quite a chilly s...

Very windy here over the past couple of days. We had a gust of 70km/h. Mild overnight, only getting down to about 17c after reaching 22c yesterday, our warmest day since 21st April. Currently 15c and a few showers passing through, but not adding up to a lot.

Exactly 19mm for the event here as well! Just a touch over 12mm overnight. It was a mild weekend - about 18c on both Saturday and Sunday - but currently 7c.

Had a nice rainy afternoon with a brief period of thunder, small hail, and 7.5mm in total. Got quite cold - down to 6c and currently 6.7c. Wind really picked up as the front passed through with gusts over 50km/h.

Re: Victoria - Troughs and possible low - September 1-7 2019

Very mild this week here - we’ve averaged 17c for the maximum temp over the past 5 days. Looks like an interesting setup from tonight onwards for the next few days. Models aren’t giving much rain here unfortunately. Possibly too far north, or rainshadowed, to benefit a whole lot, but we’ll see how i...

Finished the month above average on 80mm. We had 22 days of rain, so quite a wet month and not surprising given the negative SAM. Our average maximum for this month was 11.4c and the average minimum 4.2c. Cool mornings the past 7 days, which averaged 2.6c. Plus one snow day earlier in the month! :)

A few showers overnight, bringing the event total to 9mm. The temp was down to 1.9c, so it's quite possible that some sleet or snow landed as well but I wasn't awake to see. Cloudy and 6c currently.

Re: Strong front and Tasman Sea low: August 28-30

6mm here, which is a bit more than I was expecting. Takes us up to 77mm for the month, which is already just above average. All good news, at least for the few of us who live in southern Vic. Looks like this month might also come in just below average for the maximum temperature, something that does...

Just 1.3mm from the front last night. Got close to 16c yesterday, our warmest day since early June. Today maxed out at just under 10c, so quite a weekend of contrasts. Just a couple of light showers passing through now - won’t add to much though.

Re: Clipper system: August 24-25

Cold one this morning. The temp dipped down to 0.2c. I assume there was frost about, but disappeared by the time I was outside. Looks like quite a mild day coming up tomorrow, although windy.
