Re: Hot again with some showers and storms: 14-20 Dec

Very dry here for mid December. At least a month ahead of average regarding curing. And some very hot weather on the way for later this week and the weekend.
Less than 5mm rain so far this month.

Fire risk escalating badly.

Re: Unstable, warm, possible storms - October 12 onwards

Much of Victoria could do with a good rain dump at present. Last few months been below average, August was particularly dry, September a little below average.
Eildon Weir level actually has fallen slightly last few days.

50mm would be very welcome over next week or so. :

Re: Lake Eildon

See Eildon is over 78% full as of last Sunday. With good rain last month and so far for August the catchment is now rather wet so any rain is really making a difference. And it looks like significant rain next weekend! Went up around 4% in a matter of days. Alexandra had over a 100mm rain for July a...

Re: Increasing heat, humidity and storms - Nov 3 - 7

It is interesting that BOM have removed the mention of rain in the forecasts issued this evening. A change from the "possibly heavy falls" that was in the NE forecast and "Rain" that was in the NC forecast for Tues. PM and Wed. AM.

A fair about turn!!!!.

Re: Low Pressure Trough - October 5-8 2012

Some rain is now needed across much of the State. Especially an issue in NW, Wimmera but becoming more daily elsewhere. Most areas now would welcome 50mm from all reports. Vic. as a whole has been down lately as far as precipitation is concerned. Wednesday coming offers some promise for the State in...

37.2mm at Alexandra for the day. Brings the tally up to 230.6 mm since last Monday.

Still raining steadily but lightly.

During 2006 Alexandra recorded its driest year ever (since records commenced in 1887) - that year getting 344.6 mm for the whole year! .

A very different scenario now.!.

Re: High Temperatures, High Humidity and Storms 26 Feb - Mar

Will be interesting to see how it unfolds tonight. BOM are predicting some decent falls but many in this area seem to be somewhat dubious. NE different scenario. Been good falls during the week around 175mm. On this site does not seem to be much interest. All very quiet tonight. The NE is facing an ...

BOM are still saying most of rain will be in the North east then Gipsland from late today but going on the radar that rain in SA now entering Vic. looks to me to be going to involve a fair part of the state.

Looking somewhat ominous at present.

100mm at Alexandra. Some gauges around here, close by, got 120mm. In the Highlands east from Seymour and north of Yea 158mm for the event so far. Really settled the dust and helped the fire danger muchly. Some flooding but nothing of any significant consequence as the rain was spread out over about ...

If we were to take notice of the GFS model it will be very wet, especially in some areas!
