Currently 11°C at 0615. 8.8°C feels like temp. 89% RH Winds SSW There is a fair bit of cloud cover around but any chance of rain really diminished each day of the forecast. Now there is only a 5% chance of any rai...
Another cool start today, a low 7.9°C. We went for a quick 4WD trip up Mt Mee and then from the national park drove to the Mt Mee lookout. Beautiful scenery as you leave the National park and at the lookout. But what really hit us, we knew there was a bit of smoke haze around, you can smell it at ti...

Last night as I was picking my wife up, there was a lot of smoke from what appeared to be around the Mt Nebo direction. A very nice sunset with a long smoke cloud moving in a NE’erly directi...
Currently at Bracken Ridge ( 0608) Current temp 7.9°C Feels like 4°C RH 72 % Minimum 6.7°C at 0402 A very gentle SW wind at times. The current trend appears to be a continuation of the dry cooler air mass due to a firm ridge across QLD maybe a degree or 2 warmer during the day but nights still colde...
Bracken Ridge 0604 4.7°C Minimum @ 0608 5.1°C current temp 2.1°C feels like temp 84% RH Winds from WSW, very gentle with max. gust of 15km/h. Found it be a lot colder than yesterday morning. It has been picture perfect weather Hoffa. Can’t complain, but I am looking forward to tomorrow. A large high will send a very strong ridge across Southern Qld resulting in dry and cool air and a drop in min and max temperatures. Metro area will see maybe a high of 18 - 19°C but only for a short per...
It is a double whammy for most parts of Australia especially QLD and NE NSW. The next 3 months climate forecast is above average temperatures for both minimums and maximums. Then the 3 month trend for rain is below average. Unfortunately warm and dry. Not good. For example the combined possible medi...
Awesome stuff Crikey. Love Guyra, Glenn Innes and the New England area. Hope you enjoyed your chase. I couldn’t chase this event, my daughter was arriving home from Europe and it was a late flight. The next day was family day but I was keeping an eye on the radar and Kens posts. It was amazing that ...
I believe BoM may have got their forecast a tad wrong today, fortunately this morning I said to my wife not to wash too many clothes, wait until tomorrow. That upper trough has really turned the slight chance of a shower into a very good chance. This morning showers over Bracken Ridge were coming in...
Even though the season is half way through, this thread is for any possible snow events for the remaining season. There were some good snow falls on the 3rd of June reported from Armidale, Guyra, Glenn Innes, and Ken Kato was able to report snow that fell at Eukey at Stanthorpe. Snow also settled at...
For all the over cast conditions and showers streaming in we only had another 2 mm from 0900 to 1627. A total of 5 mm in 24 hours. Most days like this we would usually get 10mm plus due to the topography here.
Living in the matrix right now. Deja vu. There is a glitch in the system Showers once again after a mild night. Radar is peppered with small shower bands coming off the Bay.
Min of 17°C last night/ this morning with a total of 4 mm since 0900 Friday morning.
With the Brisbane Qld Thread we found it helpful when it was Southern Qld/ Widebay/ Northern NSW day to day thread. This is because it is where nearly all our storms come from. A bit of a unique set up here in this corner of Australia. Storm will roll in from The Northern area of NSW cross the board...

You are welcome Crikey. There is also this site which has a wealth of information. As you scroll down the page you can find the research they have conducted and download the articles. There would be many hours of reading or a research article that you can add to your cool blog. Anyway the page has i...
The coastal areas of SEQ are copping some good wind gusts. 80 km/h at Cape Moreton, 83 km/ h at Double Island Point . 43 km/h here at Bracken Ridge. Trying hard to drop some rain with the swift moving showers today. Been a coolish windy day overall.
Crikey I am at the very Northern suburb of Brisbane, Bracken Ridge. I am 5k’s from Sandgate and we overlook Moreton Bay. Almost the reverse of where RWM is at Wynum.
