Topped out at an even 44 degrees here (in Seymour today which was hotter than Wangaratta). Spent a few hours out working in the sun between 1-4pm, was absolutely fine in the heat. Love it. Don't like all the negative connotations with anything to do with warm weather. My circulation starts to not wo...
Got down to 15 here, beating the forecast minimums by 6. No idea what that means for maximums but if the 44 max verifies that'll be a diurnal variation of 29 degrees. Pretty impressive!
Interstingly, we've already passed our forecast minimum for the night. Was forecast to get down to 21 (not until about 6am), but already down to about 20. Either it'll heat up with warmer air moving in overnight or we will have a doozy of a diurnal variation tomorrow.
All due respect but it seems there's some amnesia going on here. Just 5 years ago there were four days in a row above 41.6 in Melbourne city (hotter in the suburbs). Now we've got one hot day and the hysteria here is getting a bit ridiculous really. The entire Mallee had 4 days in a row above 44 in ...
Welcome back Jasmine, good to have you back on board for this year, hope you enjoyed your break :D It's a really odd heatwave, we will get the one really hot day on Friday and had the two last Thursday and Friday, but we haven't had the 4/5 days in a row of 40+ like we did from Jan 14-18 2014, that'...
Meanwhile we're about to be hit by our 6th storm today, I can't remember the last time we had as many distinctly separate storm cells in a single day. Still over 30 degrees too.
Just passed over us, we got another decent drink out of it but the heaviest stuff is sliding just to our north.
In Seymour for work today and it hit 40 degrees here. I was out in it twice for a while today and must say it didn't seem that hot at all with the extra cloud cover.
There's now 5 40+ days forecast for us here in Wangaratta on the OCF. For me, a heat lover, I can't wait, but I can understand others' worry about the impending heat. It feels like January 2014 was the last time we had a hot run like this though?
That cell this morning beat me by 2 hours. I arrived in Seymour at 9am and it hit at 7am, how do you think I feel? maybe I should endlessly whine about it
Another 13mm here since 9am, we are (officially) sitting on just over 70mm for the event.. amazing! PS the One Mile Creek has now broken its banks cutting off the walking track, and many customers reported upwards of 60mm in the south side of town so I think locally we're on about 80mm now. Pretty a...
And they've brought out the old chestnut, the road weather alert! Melbourne Road Weather Alert IDV30000 Road Weather Alert for Melbourne for all suburbs Issued at 6:19 am EDT on Thursday 13 December 2018. Heavy rain at times today with localised flash flooding will make driving conditions dangerous ...
Bit patchy, but some big falls adding up. Few totals around 50mm already in the lower northeast focused around Wangaratta. Eastern burbs on the backside of the Dandenongs also quite well with totals racing towards 20mm. That area near Melton is also getting hammered. Totals in the 20-30mm showing u...
They reckon we've had 44mm now. I can almost guarantee we aren't on that much. Although the gauge by a Wunderground user here in town has 54mm and one just to the south has recorded 62mm, wow that's incredible if true! What a great start to the system, and will really green things up, it's parched a...
