Re: Winter Solstice being marked with a BANG

Yes models seem to place the bulk of rain to NE ranges and SW coast however the rain could end up in Central areas with this very complex system Multiple lows and cool to cold weather coming up...probably lengthy periods of fine weather dependant on the exact position of the low/s In any case a very...

Re: Deep low followed by troughs / fronts May 30 / 31

A brief but nasty bit of weather for particular coastal regions and bayside tomorrow with a cold front approaching western Victoria tonight to cross the State on Monday as an associated low pressure system moves eastwards across Bass Strait. The position of low and associated winds could whip up som...

Re: Series of cold fronts 23-30 April

EC and and CMC are showing a brutal system for next week. Few days out so will evolve, but hasn’t been wiggling much. Strong front with long fetch southerlies, followed by a deep low somewhere near Bass Strait. Heavy falls, gales on the coast, large waves and solid storm surge and heavy snow in the...

Ya, GFS looking a lot better, particularly in central and metro areas, with heavy rain projected to start moving through around midnight.

Won't hold my breath though.
Same
Never do very well from these systems however these are unusual times

Re: 1-7 March: Cold front then ex TC or trough?

I really hope the updates shift the rain more westward
It would be a real shame if it drifted into coastal NSW
The BOM 4 day charts look ok but the devil is in the detail
Updated EC will be. Interesting
Very complex with the positioning of the surface trough and low from. Ex tropical cyclone

Re: Mild to warm, then some rain: 22-26 Feb
