Cant wait to that radar appears in weatherzone then we have full coverage for the state of Vic

Agree Twister. Any insights on when that will happen?
Don't we now get statewide coverage with the 512km Melbourne Radar?

Re: Series of troughs then a deep low: April 1-5

EC just upped our totals big time, especially tonight and tomorrow - more than doubled our forecast for this period to 25mm!

Enjoying the historic moment as rain first appears on the 128km Rainbow Radar :).

Re: Series of troughs then a deep low: April 1-5

Thanks for starting this one HB - looks like one of the more significant cold outbreaks of recent months, and some good rain too, although our area may be a bit too far south and west for the best of it. Hoping for another wiggle south and west! Anyway, a welcome distraction and we must remember tha...

Re: Settled week then rain? 23-31 March

Rain predictions continue to ramp up for Tassie later in the week. At the moment 75-120 mm from Thursday to Sunday in the northern half of Tasmania. We are in need of a new thread for this system in Vic as well - it's been a while since I've seen a cold front like the one for Friday on BOM's latest...

Re: Settled week then rain? 23-31 March

Ended up with 6mm, which puts us just ahead of our March average - happy with that.

Nothing substantial storm-wise, just thunder and a burst of heavy-ish rain.

Nice! Just starting here, preceded by one very long roll of thunder... and another just now.

Re: Settled week then rain? 23-31 March

Sensing a bit of an upgrade for tomorrow through central in the 4.30pm BOM forecasts, backed up by the thunderstorm forecast: http://flystream.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/EUJ81unWsAEsrKw.jpg Not sure what the possible 'severe' feature is though. Heavy rainfall? (Yay!) Large hail? (Boo!) Damaging ...

Re: COVID-19 Discussion and Information

Wow, that sounds nasty HB :( . Disturbing they didn't test you??

Hope you're picking up now. I had some sniffles but figured with 3 CV cases in the Ballarat area (pop of about 120,000), the odds were in my favour.

Settled week then rain? 23-31 March

Not a lot to work with, but we need new dates, and WATL thinks something is up towards the weekend...

Re: Warm to hot with a change: March 17-20

That's an incredible fall at Walkerville HB! Nothing like that here, but our 1 mm helps keep it green .

Very cold start, 6C overnight and just 8C now with a stiff southerly.

I'll start a thread for this week and a possible rain event on the weekend - not a strong signal, but a chance.

Re: Warm to hot with a change: March 17-20

Btw what networks are people using for support? I’m finding many of my friends are getting snappy and weirded out with stress. Is there value in a thread to share thoughts in the Lounge? Can't do any harm, and will save weather threads from being (understandably) sidetracked. It continues to all be...

Re: Warm to hot with a change: March 17-20

How are people coping? Gone awfully quiet :( Going well so far... living in the country, no obvious negative impacts yet beyond cancellation of our son's sport. Business is holding together with cancellations roughly matching new bookings; could go either way moving forward but I'm inclined to play...

1.5mm in unexpected drizzle overnight. Cloud is burning off now and looks like a lovely autumn day coming up! :).

Rain has started here after a top of 28C. Hope it's enough to clean the air out a bit; my hayfever is shocking... at least I hope it's hayfever :?

Re: Strong front preceding possible ECL 13-15 March

BOM hanging in there for 4-16mm for us, despite EC backing off a little.

Btw, after our cool February, March is continuing the trend, with max temps running more than 2C below average - and it's the 'warm' end of the month :o.

Powerful-looking cold front for Friday on EC for a few runs now, and on ACCESS, though GFS not interested.

Re: 1-7 March: Cold front then ex TC or trough?

4mm more for us in FC so finished just shy of 70mm... and 80mm for the thread. Fantastic start to autumn. It is so nice not having to be constantly looking at the progs for rain, which has been the habit the last couple of late summers/autumns :? Potential for another cracking system next weekend. ...

Re: 1-7 March: Cold front then ex TC or trough?

31.5mm here so far; not often I'd feel like the poor country cousin with that total! Fantastic to see just about everyone get a decent drop, especially the north-west which appeared likely to miss out. Speaking of misses, as many have said already, a remarkable miss from BOM. As late as the ABC radi...

Re: 1-7 March: Cold front then ex TC or trough?

WATL (average of most models) at 8pm this evening looks interesting for Thursday. http://flystream.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/WATL-1-March.png Still not sure what to expect on what days, but at least the trend to push most of the rain east out through NSW and into the Tasman, seems to have rever...

Re: 1-7 March: Cold front then ex TC or trough?

We finished the month on 68.5mm, and 147mm ytd. As others have mentioned, a far cry from this point in 2019. The Feb temps have been wonderful: exactly 2C below average for maximums (0.9C above average for minimums) and not even close to a single 30C day. March looks to get off to a nice start for t...
