20.6mm in the PWS.
That heavy for a time I had to raise my voice more than usual while calling bingo at the nursing home.

Re: Vic - Humid & Potential for Rain: Feb 5-20, 2020

Ticked over 20mm here, some heavy but thankfully nothing extraordinary.
BOM forecast for here tomorrow 4 - 15mm which if it turns out that way will see February 2020 above the monthly average.

Rain still steady from light to moderate, up to 23.4 mm. Tank overflowing.
Happy I have taken a break on Saturday afternoons vollie work at nursing home, with not driving I would have had to walk both ways in the rain.

Must have struck it lucky, 16.6 mm in the PWS, 17 - 18 mm in the 2 manual gauges. Rowville closest Melbourne Water site just 9.4 mm.

Re: VIC - Warming trend with dangerous fire WX - 27 - 31 Jan 2020

BOM struggling with this system big time - not even the brief forecasts or district forecasts are up yet. I noted the same. With a complicated system such as this one where maybe just a kilometre or two could make a big difference in rainfall they will have the armchair forecasters saying loudly th...

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-26th Jan 2020

Just my thoughts on the red rain. We have had many times when dust has been blown over us but have we had other times when it has been immediately followed by such a significant rainfall event to bring it to earth rather than being blown further thus dissipating it?

YTD is 97 mm

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-26th Jan 2020

Had 28 mm by the manual gauges, only 23 mm with the Davis ws, have bad feeling it is not recording correctly as previously it would normally be a touch higher. Similar discrepancy with last rain event. Melbourne Water Rowville about 2 kms away has had 27 mm.

11.2mm for the event here, most of which was late yesterday afternoon/evening. Tank overflowing, with more rain forecast this week it will extend the time when garden watering will not be needed.
Happy.

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-23rd Jan 2020

I'm over it. For the 3rd time today there were good cells coming this way, and then for some reason thye just disappear two or three kilometres before they get here. Hope the rest of you enjoy it. (Reverse psychology might just work :D ) If it is any consolation your old stamping ground of Dandy Nt...

No TV news footage will come from here, so far a 'massive' 0.2mm. Always another time, BOM upped tomorrow's range to 15 - 35mm.

Re: Victoria - More heat and then some rain? - January 2nd to 5th 2020

Ticked up to 5mm here with still a bit to come in this stage. Rain run-off into tank is clouded with the accumulation of dust since the last decent fall, do not often see that.

I appreciate that this is stretching the topic thread (my apologies) but once again during heat like today the NBN has crashed in this area once again, second time today, last summer had a couple of similar outages with similar temps, coincidences or not?
