Re: Warm with a rainband: Sept 12-13

Ah weather! Makes life interesting when it does go by the prescribed BOM recipe or other enthusiasts longings. 3mm here so far, a wait and see the the rest of the day but have be able to get outside and do some weed removal from the lawn which was not on the agenda for today.

Re: Series of cold fronts 23-30 April

16mm thus far bringing the month's total to 164mm, will it crack 200mm? Weather to come maybe a tad gloomy but the consistency of the falls this year is fantastic. Happy as well as from Friday I can have restricted visits to the partner in nursing home, finally the home has bowed to Fed govt pressur...

Re: Series of troughs then a deep low: April 1-5

Just ticked up to 100mm month-to-date, not bad considering the date. :D
Year-to-date 383mm, checked earlier it was the end of July last year that I recorded same total.

Another 35mm overnight, event total 87mm.

I seem to have to evict spiders from the Davis on a regular basis. The obs above were the average of my 2 manual gauges, little variation in them.

Re: Series of troughs then a deep low: April 1-5

A few passing light showers this afternoon. Checked immediately local PWS on Wunderground, they had falls of 30 - 39mm overnight. The first shower was when I visited the partner in nursing home, the staff brought her out into a garden area and I was outside the fence thus not breaking the no visitin...

Re: Series of troughs then a deep low: April 1-5

Amazed to see average 35mm in the 2 manual gauges, I remember seeing they were empty a couple of days ago so checked the neighbour's, which I know I emptied yesterday when he asked me to after checking on his wellbeing, it had 33mm. Melbourne Water's about 2kms away has had 27.8mm so we must have co...

8.4mm here today, month to date 80.2mm.

Into 6 month home isolation for me, after 47 years here I know the place well, will know it even better by the release date.

Re: Warm to hot with a change: March 17-20

Just 0.6mm on Thursday night, nothing since. Today cloudy and dull. Life has turned very quiet this week. The nursing home partner is in went to lockdown with 4 hours notice on Tuesday, who knows when that will be lifted, will be a miracle if all is over in less than 6 months. Thankfully I thought o...

Re: 1-7 March: Cold front then ex TC or trough?

Last night the neighbour after seeing the forecast on the 6PM TV news asked how much rain we would have before it was over. I replied anything from 5 - 50 mm, I just might be understating. Currently 26 mm with plenty more to come.

Home to 3.2mm in the PWS.

Have been to Benalla today for a funeral, low 30s°C this afternoon which certainly felt warm but ok but oh so dry especially when one sees the lush green we have around here.

20.6mm in the PWS.
That heavy for a time I had to raise my voice more than usual while calling bingo at the nursing home.

Ticked over 20mm here, some heavy but thankfully nothing extraordinary.
BOM forecast for here tomorrow 4 - 15mm which if it turns out that way will see February 2020 above the monthly average.

Rain still steady from light to moderate, up to 23.4 mm. Tank overflowing.
Happy I have taken a break on Saturday afternoons vollie work at nursing home, with not driving I would have had to walk both ways in the rain.

Re: VIC - Warming trend with dangerous fire WX - 27 - 31 Jan 2020

BOM struggling with this system big time - not even the brief forecasts or district forecasts are up yet. I noted the same. With a complicated system such as this one where maybe just a kilometre or two could make a big difference in rainfall they will have the armchair forecasters saying loudly th...

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-26th Jan 2020

Just my thoughts on the red rain. We have had many times when dust has been blown over us but have we had other times when it has been immediately followed by such a significant rainfall event to bring it to earth rather than being blown further thus dissipating it?

YTD is 97 mm
