couple of shots from tonight's storm, out the back of home under the pergola. If there wasn't an antenna in the neighbor's yard, it would have been perfect. http://ih0.redbubble.net/image.11472556.0029/flat,550x550,075,f.jpg http://ih2.redbubble.net/image.11472571.0034/flat,550x550,075,f.jpg http://...

NSW / ACT storm chase 18th / 19th feb - 6pm to 12.00am

Last Night, (Friday), Canberra was hit by a very large cell, which I decided to chase out to see what I could get. There were moments of beautiful clarity on the back roads around gundaroo and gunning, but there was no-where safe to pull over and set up. I continued following, watching the great bra...

Re: Apocalypse Photography

I'm still using the D3000. It's a wonderful little camera. Don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon ( ... needs job first :P ). I do use the 18-55mm kit lens occasionally, but I recently bought a Tamron 18-200mm lens which does the job. The extra focal length is quite handy, although there is a s...

nice lightning shots. really like that you got the close up looping of raw electricity.

I abandoned the gimp for iwatermark pro - makes it faster to export.

Re: NSW/ACT Inland Trough and Possible ECL 9th-12th Feb

spoilt for choice last night. there were two fronts passing canberra - one supercell heading past captains flat and one passing gungahlin, in the northern suburbs. I spent some time trying to get some shots of the captains flat cell, before turning my attention to the other cell - the lightning was ...

Tonight, there were two fronts coming in from the north - one tracking past queanbeyan and one near gungahlin. Re: What Camera do you have?

I bought a run out model Nikon D3000, with the VR 55mm lens, for my 40th. followed up with a vanguard tripod, Lowepro sling case, spare battery and a VR 300mm lens in the space of a couple of months.Already had the inverter from Dick smith, so one battery is charging while I am driving around... All...

Re: Canberra/ACT General Weather

thanks for the welcome. it seems that most of the people here have moved on, I see a few of them over at WZ, but the conversation seems to be far too technical for new weather nuts. Forecast for tonight is storms - I am hoping that the low cloud goes away so that it is a clear shot across canberra, ...

Re: Peterhau's Photos

these photos were taken on a cloudy day - the beams of light were all over the place, shooting through the gaps in the clouds. The sunset got a laser effect as it struggled to shine through. http://ih3.redbubble.net/image.11380398.1624/flat,550x550,075,f.jpg http://ih1.redbubble.net/image.11380380.1...
