Re: Victoria - Hot blast ahead of a milder change - 18th Nov to 21 Nov 2019

40.9 equals Melbourne's hottest November day? BTW the point value FFDI values for today are just eye watering. Values widely popping over 100. When you think 100 used to be the top of the scale, the frequency that we go over that nowadays is a problem :( So so lucky we had all the gloomy damp weath...

Any idea, how far down the Mount She snowed? Mum will be freezing her Butt off (she's 89 so doesn't take much) in Woodend today, thinking they may have got close to snow.

Re: Vic - Antarctic cold wave 7 - 12 Aug 2019

1981 it snowed in Kyneton, I vaguely recall that being a big dumping in Woodend where I grew up, can't remember many really solid snow days after that. Tipping Trentham will get a goodly amount out of this system, will it settle though? Looking at Meteye 1pm and 4pm snow charts look like the best fa...

Re: Welcome to our Weatherzone friends

Finally I might get to lurk on a few more threads. Came over here a long time ago now, I'm not that knowledgeable so I generally just read. I don't get the negativity from the WZ forum, I wonder if it's people with an axe to grind or just trying to push their preferred site? Regardless hopefully thi...

Wow at the storm bearing down on the Woodend/Macedon district. Wish I was up there as it looks like a hell of a show.

Mum will be likely hiding under the table though which isn't that great lol

That radar out west looks beastly, heading straight for the city, lets see how good the shield is today.

the Line from Kyneton to the coast is amazing to look at, this day has delivered in spades, even if some have missed out, so far.

What hope have we ever got of getting the right terminology out there if places like the CFA keep using phrases like mini tornado.

My Guess is that it is, most likely picking up snow flakes and reporting back as heavy rain.

I hope it is snowing up Trentham/Ballarat/Daylesford way. Mount Macedon and Woodend next?

Will be interesting to see in the morning where the rain that's looping over the bay goes.

Apollo Bay is in the firing line and it could really drop some big totals.

Re: Trough then cut-off low: Last week of January

Just noticed that at 11.39 the BOM cancelled the severe storm warning, REALLY, wow that was a poor call as the cell that hit here was intense, massive rain, vicious lightning and well deserving of a warning. It's still very strong on the radar and it's Little River and Lara's turn now and after what...

Going nuts here, just had a very quick power outage here, the lightning has a real kick to it :-)

Power almost went again, had to reset my router.

Power went off after a huge flang, must have hit a power pole nearby. I was deaf for a second!

That is 1 impressive radar right now. Kinglake looks to be copping a beauty of a storm, surprised there is no warning for it.
