Thanks so much Robyn, truly amazing experience for all of us - long story but in a nutshell, helen was having the odd contraction through the day on Easter sunday, nothing too major, then decided to have a bath at 10.30pm while I drove Rhys to our friends house round the corner, got home and was tol...

OK, time to come out of the closet. I joined a gym in January. One of these new 24hr ones. No commitment, no silly routines, just pure and simple motivation. A bit of history - 5 years ago I was a lot fitter, under 95kg and in training for the The Age 10km run. Just 1 week before the big event I rip...

Hey everyone, been very tardy recently on here. Cracking evening, and completely unexpected to be honest. Almost caught me off guard. Rain ramped up in just a few minutes and in the space of around 45 minutes dropped 33.8mm. Heaps of CC's and one or two CG's, one of which was just across the way fro...

Thanks mate, yes it was a wild 36hrs here indeed, even by Wellingtonian's standards. Petone's beach is about 2ft deep in debris that has blown ashore. Turned into a cracking day here with crystal blue skies and about 18c I reckon. Even saw some someone out on their jetski this afternoon

yeah, it's certainly very weird looking. my guess is a hardware fault, but it is just visible on the Sydney radar too, very odd. Actually enjoying seeing some of the kooks coming up with their "HAARP" theories on certain facebook pages...

Thanks for posting this Robyn - it's pretty amazing watching this develop - they have been tipping this sunspot for about two weeks. Thing I find very interesting too, and this will excite AV for sure, but after a very quiet period of activity on the sun, we have also had a very unusually quiet peri...

bad news is that my weather station (that is supposed to store a year's info) has not stored the last 9 months, and has now crapped itself and lost month to date. Ah well.
good news? My garden is finally starting to dry out and I can cut the grass without it turning to mush

Interesting winter season for the southern hemisphere - saw a report that most VIC ski resorts are planning to extend their season for at least another 2 weeks, possibly 4. I was up at Hotham and Falls this weekend and the conditions are the best they have been in many years. I read today also that ...

Yes, we've been pretty picky about faddy kitchen appliances. Actauuly just received from my brother a bread maker - now this is something I have wanted for years. I actually know people who use them just to make batches of dough, then split it up, freeze and then put in the oven when needed - that s...
